About the Team:
Our team is responsible for delivering high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our clients. As a Moodle Platform Specialist, you will work closely with our team to ensure the successful implementation and maintenance of the Moodle platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Platform Maintenance: Implement bug fixes and enhancements for Moodle core and plugins to ensure the platform remains stable and secure.
- Backlog Management: Develop and maintain both community and custom Moodle plugins to address specific organisational needs.
- Upgrade Preparation: Collaborate with teams to improve the Moodle experience for large-scale usage and prepare for upcoming upgrades.
Required Skills:
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in PHP, Git, JavaScript, Mustache templates, and SCSS.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate technical decisions and reasoning to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience: Experience in high-load and high-scale Moodle environments is essential.
- Problem-Solving: Optimise Moodle for performance under heavy load and critical usage scenarios.
- Leadership: Lead the integration of large-scale infrastructure changes to improve reliability and manage infrastructure coordination for high-stakes exams, ensuring platform stability.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with global teams to ensure these changes are accepted into the broader Moodle project.
- Development: Lead development of a dedicated Moodle platform tailored for high-stakes exams and enhance the user experience with additional workflows and functionality for assessors.
- Usability: Identify and address usability challenges to improve the exam-taking and marking processes.
