Position Overview:
We are looking for a proficient and versatile Facilities Maintenance Specialist with a strong background in mechanical, electrical, or HVAC systems. This part-time position involves performing essential maintenance tasks, executing reactive repairs, and ensuring adherence to statutory regulations. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Hard Services and will work 16 hours per week, specifically on Wednesdays and Fridays, with the possibility of additional hours as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance and reactive repair tasks.
- Test fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and perform water temperature assessments.
- Inspect ladders, grills, and diffusers; resolve lighting issues and conduct PAT testing as required.
- Collaborate with team members to obtain estimates for remedial work and minor projects.
- Oversee planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities carried out by subcontractors.
- Utilize a mobile work order tracking system for effective task management.
- Perform any additional tasks as directed by the Key Account Manager or Facilities Coordinator.

Complexity of Role:
- Desirable: Qualifications in electrical, mechanical, or HVAC maintenance.
- A willingness to learn and understand compliance requirements in a building fabric context.
- Basic computer skills for operating a mobile work order tracking system.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Desirable: Experience in electrical or mechanical fields.
- Proficient in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
- Knowledge of or eagerness to learn about various systems, including fire alarms, air handling units, heating and cooling systems, shutters and doors, lifts and cranes, pressure systems, humidifiers and dehumidifiers, lightning protection, compressed air systems, expansion vessels, heat exchangers, leak detection systems, uninterrupted power supplies, bus bars, and three-phase and gas plants.
