We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Practitioner to join our CAMHS team in Bedford. As a key member of our Mental Health Support Team, you will play a vital role in delivering evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across educational settings and healthcare sectors in England.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health, with experience of working with children and young people, their families, and others in educational and health settings. You will be able to assess and meet the communication needs of schools, delivering psycho-education on mental health or emotional wellbeing to different groups.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver specific therapeutic interventions to children, young people, or their families (e.g. Guided Self Help, CBT, parent work)
- Assess children and young people who present with mild to moderate mental health problems and rapidly access more specialist services
- Liaise and work effectively with the wider network around the child, including educational, social care, family, and health
- Develop and deliver a wide range of interventions, projects, and system change with the aim of whole school and whole community approaches to supporting young people's mental health
