Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Risk Specialist to join our team at Richard James Recruitment Specialists Ltd. As a Credit Risk Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the credit risk associated with our clients' natural gas trading activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough credit risk assessments on existing and prospective counterparties to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the risks associated with natural gas trading, including counterparty risk, market risk, and operational risk.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure effective credit risk management and to identify areas for process improvement.
  • Prepare and submit credit applications for approval, ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Negotiate and manage credit collateral with counterparties to minimize risk.
  • Monitor and control counterparty exposure, ensuring that all approved counterparties are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all counterparty interactions and credit risk assessments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a physical trading environment, with a strong understanding of natural gas trading and credit risk management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with risk analysis and mitigation methodologies.
