Richard James Recruitment Specialists Ltd is proud to partner with a leading Energy Trading firm in London to find a skilled Credit Risk Analyst for their growing team.

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly experienced Credit Risk Analyst to join our client's team. As a Credit Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for performing daily credit risk management tasks, developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of risks associated with gas trading, and ensuring the company's credit exposure is properly managed.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Conduct initial and ongoing compliance checks on all existing and prospective counterparties for trading
  • Conduct counterparty assessments (periodic and ad hoc)
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders on credit-related issues
  • Prepare credit applications for local and HQ signoffs
  • Negotiate EFET agreements
  • Enhance internal processes and procedures in consultation with relevant departments
  • Recommend changes in credit limits/approval status for senior management approval
  • Monitor counterparty exposure and control credit status of approved counterparties
  • Maintain consistent and thorough counterparty records
  • Manage credit collateral

**Requirements**

  • Educated to degree level or degree level qualification

**Desirable Skills**

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills
  • Solid understanding of counterparty risk
  • Previous experience of credit risk management in oil, LNG, and shipping

**Ideal Candidate Profile**

  • 5+ years in a physical trading environment, with exposure to trading of grid-based gas, with comprehensive knowledge of the gas trading industry
  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of counterparty credit risk, a working knowledge of risk analysis and mitigation methodology
  • It would be useful if candidates have experience of working in a regulated environment
