Job Overview:

An exceptional opportunity has arisen within the Respiratory Physiology Services team at our esteemed healthcare institution. We are in search of a dedicated and proficient individual to enhance our vibrant service. As a Clinical Respiratory Specialist, you will be instrumental in executing comprehensive pulmonary function assessments, evaluating muscle weakness, conducting limited sleep studies, and managing CPAP setups and evaluations.

Your role will encompass the interpretation of diagnostic sleep study outcomes and the provision of CPAP therapy, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

The ideal candidate will also engage in the education and mentorship of junior personnel while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a full spectrum of fundamental lung function assessments for both adult and pediatric populations.
  • Evaluate and interpret results from basic lung function assessments.
  • Establish and assess sleep studies, administer CPAP/VPAP therapy, and prioritize requests from inpatients.
  • Coordinate with medical personnel, respond to urgent situations, and partake in training and development initiatives.
  • Quickly identify and rectify equipment malfunctions.

Job Duties:

The Clinical Respiratory Specialist will actively participate in the multidisciplinary team, delivering superior care to patients while supervising junior staff. The position involves a variety of diagnostic evaluations, sleep studies, CPAP therapy, and opportunities for professional advancement.

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

  • BSc(Hons) in Clinical Physiology or equivalent qualification.
  • Comprehensive understanding of lung function and sleep study methodologies.
  • ARTP Part 1 & 2 Certifications.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Experience:

  • Significant experience within a Respiratory Physiology Department.
  • Proficient in performing and analyzing lung function tests, CPAP setups, and sleep studies.
  • Strong organizational capabilities and experience in mentoring staff.
  • Familiarity with hospital software and laboratory management is advantageous.

Skills:

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.
  • Empathetic demeanor with an understanding of diversity and human rights.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities are desirable.

Additional Requirements:

  • Adaptable, flexible, and capable of working independently.
