Job Description:About the Role:
- Design and develop mechanical instruments and peripherals for various applications.
- Collaborate with product managers, manufacturing, service, support, and installation teams to meet requirements.
- Plan and manage deliverables on time, ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Select and manage suppliers, conduct quality inspections, and hand over to procurement.
- Design and document prototype and instrument testing to meet mechanical requirements.
- Consider component supply cost, lead time, and end-of-life implications.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in relevant industry, preferably in start-ups, deep technology, combined hardware/software products, laser spectroscopy.
- Full product development lifecycle experience from inception to market maturity.
- Design for Manufacture, Service & Support expertise.
- Supplier selection and management skills.
- Prototyping using 3D printers and short-run parts experience.
- Testing against regulations, including environmental and shipping/handling.
- Experience designing and conducting sub-component and final product testing.
- Packaging design for shipment experience desirable.
