As a pivotal figure in our organization, you will guide functional, integration, system, and data Test Analysts in their testing and quality assurance efforts within a designated Product area. Your leadership will ensure that the quality, reliability, integrity, and performance of our products and services align with the expectations of our users and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to third-party testers across various projects, ensuring successful product delivery to our customers.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of both functional and non-functional test plans across diverse applications.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that offshore delivery teams are adequately staffed and functioning effectively.
  • Regularly report to the QA Manager on overall team quality, test coverage, and process efficiency.
  • Ensure QA approval for all changes being tested throughout the release cycle, maintaining efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Verify that the design and documentation of test cases for core business applications meet the acceptance criteria outlined in business user stories, including both positive and negative testing scenarios.
  • Supervise and assist in the execution of test cases and the documentation of test results across various browsers and devices, ensuring compliance with user requirements and IT governance standards.
  • Identify and document any issues discovered during testing, collaborating closely with Product Owners, BAs, Architects, and Developers to resolve application and process challenges.
  • Conduct oversight reviews of test cases developed by other testers, ensuring proper storage and maintenance of test cases.
  • Engage in user story refinement and sprint planning sessions to create SMART stories for upcoming Sprints.
  • Ensure all necessary testing types are conducted as required during each release cycle (e.g., Acceptance, Functional, Regression, Non-Functional, Integration, and Data).
  • Assist in compiling data for the establishment of robust test environments, ensuring the accuracy of integration data maps for testing.
  • Proactively suggest innovative automation strategies to minimize manual efforts and enhance code coverage across all testing levels.
  • Participate in the development and execution of automated test cases for all applications under evaluation when appropriate.
  • Continuously seek to advance testing and quality assurance through ongoing process enhancements.
  • Collect metrics and KPIs to support continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
  • Perform additional tasks as necessary to align with the evolving priorities of the organization.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive test strategy for product areas that encompasses all individual projects and various testing types.
  • Continuously compile regression test case coverage against both manual and automated testing approaches for each application within the Product POD.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures to uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being.
  • Complete a DBS check as part of our commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all involved in football, with the level of the check determined by the specific job role and in accordance with legislation and government guidance.
Qualifications:

Essential:
  • Extensive testing experience, including leadership or senior testing roles.
  • Experience collaborating with offshore delivery teams.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and software testing lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Proficiency with databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience in both functional and non-functional testing of web-based and mobile applications.
  • Familiarity with agile defect and sprint management tools such as Jira, Zephyr, and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools including Selenium, Parasoft, and Postman.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong decision-making skills and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Beneficial:
  • Experience testing on mobile platforms.
  • ISEB or ISTQB certification at the Intermediate level.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as IntelliJ, Selenium, Cucumber, and Postman.
  • Experience writing and executing automated tests at both API and UI levels.
  • Knowledge of deploying builds to development and testing environments.
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • An interest or awareness of football.
