Role Overview

The successful candidate for the Mechanical & Electrical Technician position will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and perform repairs, servicing, and parts replacement on vehicles.
  • Identify vehicle faults and determine the appropriate repair methods and necessary parts.
  • Conduct vehicle servicing and routine inspections using handheld data capture devices when applicable.
  • Execute vehicle road tests as needed to pinpoint specific defects or to verify repairs.
  • Possess PCV mechanical repair skills; knowledge of electrical systems is advantageous but not mandatory.

We will provide you with overalls and all the specialized tools and equipment required for your role.

Compensation

  • £19.98 per hour

Work Schedule

  • 38 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday hours

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent (e.g., City & Guilds level I & II)
  • Must hold a full category B driving license.
  • PCV license is not essential; we can assist you in obtaining it.
  • Are you knowledgeable about the overhaul and repair of vehicle systems, including engines, gearboxes, drive trains, and various hydraulic and braking systems?
  • Are you familiar with the safe operation of workshop equipment, including brake testers, hydraulic lifts, and diagnostic tools?
  • Do you have experience with diagnostic equipment such as hydraulic flow meters and multi-meters?
  • You will be required to attend manufacturer training courses and DVSA vehicle inspection training as necessary, which may involve overnight stays. Are you committed to achieving your career aspirations? If so, we would be eager to hear from you.
