Compensation: £22,900 FTE per annum

Role Overview:

We are seeking multiple Educational Support Specialists to assist across diverse curriculum areas at our college locations. In this fulfilling position, you will contribute to the planning and execution of high-quality educational experiences for young individuals, including those with Educational Health Care (EHC) plans, both inside and outside the classroom.

As an Educational Support Specialist, you will uphold a strong belief in the potential of young people to achieve their academic and personal aspirations. You will establish challenging expectations while fostering self-esteem and independence. Your role will involve facilitating student engagement in educational activities and collaborative learning through digital platforms and assistive technologies.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Foster a constructive and supportive learning environment aligned with lesson plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement strategies that help students meet their learning objectives.
  • Provide instruction that progresses from simpler to more complex tasks, breaking down challenging skills into manageable components.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of educational activities.

Professional Expectations:

Establish clear communication and professional relationships with educators to ensure mutual understanding of roles and responsibilities. You will demonstrate a high level of professionalism, effective verbal and written communication skills, empathy, and adaptability to cater to the diverse needs of learners and staff.

Qualifications:

Applicants must hold or be pursuing Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English, as well as a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning.

Departmental Collaboration:

In this role, you will work closely with the vocational curriculum team, reporting directly to the Curriculum Manager and collaborating with tutors to support learners in the classroom setting.
