Role Overview

SSE Enterprise is seeking a Compliance Assurance Specialist to become an integral part of our Risk & Assurance division. This team is responsible for establishing processes that identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks in alignment with the organization's risk appetite, ensuring that accurate information is provided to both internal and external stakeholders through systematic assurance activities.

The selected candidate will be crucial in fostering a culture of compliance and assurance throughout the organization. This position serves as a central coordination point, facilitating cross-departmental efforts to implement assurance and regulatory compliance measures.

The successful applicant will collaborate closely with various teams to ensure that all necessary components are effectively addressed. Our Compliance Assurance Specialists function as the second line of defense within our Risk & Assurance framework, playing a vital role in maintaining compliance with regulatory obligations while executing the assurance audit plan and conducting risk-based evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Implement the assurance framework to guarantee adherence to legal requirements and our Standard and Special Licence Conditions.

- Evaluate, measure, and enhance the assurance and compliance of our control framework, including Data Assurance Guidelines, Business Separation, and Rule Change Notifications.

- Conduct risk assessments and assurance reviews to confirm that obligations and licence conditions are met across the organization, producing and disseminating accurate reports reflecting the findings.

- Perform audits in accordance with the approved assurance audit plan, ensuring that all identified actions are monitored until completion.

- As a vital member of the Risk & Assurance team, continuously review potential business risks and integrate them into the comprehensive assurance plan.

Qualifications:

To be eligible for this position, candidates should possess:

- Experience in auditing, with ISO 9001 training being a plus.

- A commitment to quality and a passion for delivering exceptional service consistently.

- Strong presentation and communication skills, along with proficiency in data analysis and report writing.

- Outstanding organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

- Previous experience in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, or auditing roles is advantageous.
