We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team as a Clinical Lead for the Crisis Pathway in Milton Keynes. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving service development and providing clinical leadership to the Mental Health Hospital Liaison Team and the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and co-ordinate the provision of a psychology service to patients in the crisis pathway
- Provide highly specialist clinical input and contribute to enabling other staff, service users, and carers to flourish in a psychologically safe environment
- Provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate, functioning as a lead specialist in the crisis pathway
- Ensure systems are in place for the clinical and professional supervision and support of other psychologists within MHHLT
- Undertake service evaluation, audit, research, and policy development
We are looking for a well-rounded and experienced practitioner with a strong foundation in clinical psychology and a passion for crisis work. The ideal candidate will have:
- Entry-level qualification in Applied Psychology (professional Doctorate, or combination of MSc plus PG Diploma level additional training) accepted by the HCPC for purposes of professional registration as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist
- Additional training in a specialised area of psychological practice through formal post-qualification training (PG Diploma or equivalent), or a combination of specialist short courses, or an evidenced portfolio of supervised practice-based learning in a specialist area of clinical practice
- Completed training course in clinical supervision
- Registered with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist, and evidence of continuing professional development as required by the HCPC
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in crisis work, clinical health psychology, and a good foundation of transferable skills. The ideal candidate will also have:
- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
- BABCP accreditation
