About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director to join our Planning team at Lanpro. As a key member of our team, you will play a leadership role in planning projects, coordinating and overseeing projects, and building upon existing client relationships.

The ideal candidate will have a strong professional profile and reputation, both internally and within the industry, and will be able to leverage business opportunities effectively. You will be responsible for taking a leadership role in developing the team's core competencies, assisting the Regional Director in the day-to-day management of the team, and undertaking direct line management responsibilities as directed by the Regional Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead planning projects and coordinate and oversee projects to ensure successful delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders to drive business growth and development.
  • Develop and implement business strategies to achieve commercial objectives and drive business growth.
  • Provide technical input into projects and bids, and use technical knowledge to identify and realise new client opportunities.
  • Manage the delivery of specialized components of projects, including project managing a mix of large and complex planning submissions, and project managing planning appeals.
  • Perform strategic planning research and policy development, including assessments of development potential, and undertake site inspections and assessments of the merits of proposals.
  • Provide guidance to engineers and architects on the production of drawings and supplementary information in relation to planning submissions.
  • Provide senior leadership within the Planning Division and maintain continuing professional development in accordance with the requirements of the RTPI.
Requirements
  • An RTPI accredited degree or Masters in a related discipline.
  • A chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
  • Significant experience working in the planning industry, ideally including experience of working in the private sector and experience of directly managing staff or leading a team.
