Key Responsibilities
Cygnet Kenney House will feature a 40-bed unit, primarily focusing on two of the three wards: the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Acute Services, with the third ward for Rehabilitation Services to follow. All wards will cater specifically to adult females. Our service is being meticulously crafted in accordance with the excellence standards established by the Royal College of Psychiatry, with aspirations for accreditation through their evaluation process.
In this role, you will oversee our Female PICU Ward, accommodating up to 13 patients. Your expertise will be pivotal in delivering transformative treatment, supported by a Specialty Doctor and a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.

Your Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT)
- Assume overall responsibility for patient treatment strategies in conjunction with the MDT
- Conduct assessments and mental state evaluations of service users
- Execute necessary investigations, diagnoses, and treatments
- Engage in ward rounds and clinical audits
- Lead the execution of risk assessments and management while embedding clinical governance
- Supervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and attend hearings
- Participate in the on-call rota

Ideal Candidate Profile
- Fully GMC registered and MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
- Registered on the specialist register (CCT/CESR), Section 12, and AC Status
- Proficient and knowledgeable in adult psychiatry and mental health diagnostics
- Familiar with the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, as well as the Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Excellent communicator capable of interviewing, assessing, and treating patients while documenting clear medical notes
- Committed to ongoing professional development
- Able to function effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent
