Our technology enhances efficiency for auctioneers, enabling small businesses to grow by accessing a global pool of bidders, while providing buyers with a diverse selection of unique items. Current Status

ATG has successfully achieved a 'first mover advantage' in the sectors we operate within, benefiting from significant network effects. As we attracted more sellers, we simultaneously drew in more buyers, creating a mutually beneficial ecosystem that has been essential to our profitable growth.

We have outlined a strategic vision comprising three key phases to lead the transformation of the auction industry. The initial phase focused on building a robust foundation of marketplaces and technologies, allowing us to leverage network effects and distinguish ourselves from competitors. We are currently in the second phase, which involves enhancing our eCommerce capabilities by improving user interface and experience, investing in search and discovery functionalities, and expanding payment and shipping options. Our objective is to maximize the quality of bidders.

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team as the Head of Product for Search and AI. This role will be pivotal in shaping the vision, strategy, and execution of our Search and AI initiatives across our marketplaces. The position is hybrid, with opportunities for collaboration in our London office and travel to other locations as needed.

This role will report directly to the Chief Product Officer (CPO) and will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategies for one of ATG's most critical areas.

Candidate Profile

Experience in developing products from inception to launch is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Search, Taxonomy, and AI investments.
  • Analyze market trends and identify necessary technology and skill investments to leverage AI and machine learning for enhanced customer value.
  • Drive experimentation to increase bids per bidder and improve search success across our marketplaces.
  • Establish goals and KPIs that align with both short-term and long-term revenue objectives.
  • Instill a results-oriented mindset within the Product team, focusing on impactful solutions for our customers.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of customer behaviors, competitive landscape, and technology trends to inform strategic decisions.
  • Identify new investment opportunities and product initiatives.
  • Collaborate across the organization, engaging with product teams, marketing, sales, finance, legal, and executive leadership.
  • Proactively address challenges and facilitate cross-team collaboration to overcome obstacles.
  • Champion product initiatives from conception through implementation, including strategy development, feature elaboration, and release planning.
  • Foster a culture of rapid experimentation, learning, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop exceptional talent within the product management teams.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of business experience, with exposure to both startups and mid to large-scale companies.
  • Extensive experience in delivering AI services, machine learning platforms, and generative AI products.
  • Strong understanding of two-sided marketplaces.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing product teams.
  • Ability to engage with senior executives and present data-driven arguments.
  • Practical knowledge of eCommerce and search platforms.
  • Experience with ROI-driven prioritization.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide clear direction and set measurable goals based on industry trends.
