Location: Primarily Field-based with occasional office presence.
Compensation: Competitive salary range of £35,000 to £45,000 (dependent on experience) plus company vehicle, laptop, mobile device, and a substantial bonus structure (25% - 30%).
We are pleased to announce a remarkable opportunity for a Sales Applications Specialist within a prominent, globally recognized manufacturer and distributor of customized scientific instruments. This role is integral to our expanding UK team.
As a Sales Applications Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth within this business sector, collaborating closely with a highly esteemed industry expert from whom you can enhance your skills and knowledge. You will serve as the primary technical sales liaison between clients and the international manufacturers of our products. Your responsibilities will include addressing technical inquiries, assisting clients in defining the specific requirements of often-customized systems prior to purchase, and providing ongoing support throughout the entire process.
Our clientele is predominantly based in the UK, with travel to customer locations expected approximately 4 to 5 days each month, although most interactions will be conducted via virtual meetings.
Qualifications for the Sales Applications Specialist:
The ideal candidate for the Sales Applications Specialist role will possess a background in technical sales of specialized products (such as Scientific Instruments, medical devices, or custom electronics) or experience as a technical expert or field service engineer in related technologies, seeking to transition into a more client-facing, sales-oriented position.
- A degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., BSc, MPhys) in Applied Physics, Electronics, or a related field.
- Experience with scientific instrumentation, medical devices, or custom electronic systems is preferred, particularly in a sales context.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to think creatively in a business setting.
- Proficient in computer applications and technology.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to client sites.
Work Location:
- While ideally based in the West Midlands, we are open to considering experienced candidates who may work remotely with occasional visits to the office.
