Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Public Health Assistant to join our Health Visiting service in Kent. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering support to families with children aged 0-5, promoting healthy child development and well-being.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct health and development reviews using the Ages and Stages Questionnaire
  • Provide guidance and advice to parents and caregivers on healthy child development and well-being
  • Escalate concerns and work collaboratively with the team to ensure the best possible outcomes for children
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings to share knowledge and best practices
  • Build relationships with colleagues to enhance team working and support

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a relevant Level 3 qualification, such as an NVQ or QCF Diploma, and at least 2 years' experience in a child care environment or health/social care setting. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work under pressure, and be flexible and adaptable. Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and key theories around child learning and development is desirable.
