Job Title: Education Support Assistant - SEMH

GSL Education - Southampton is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Support Assistant to join our team at a Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) school in Portsmouth. This is a specialist school that provides a supportive environment for pupils aged who have difficulty managing social interactions and struggle to recognize and regulate their emotions.

About the Role:
  • Provide 1-1 support or support a teacher with small group activities
  • Work in a challenging setting with patience and understanding
  • Knowledge of PECS or Makaton would be an advantage
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience with learning difficulties and complex needs
  • Positive, resilient personality that is engaging
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
  • DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
