Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, educational psychologists, and other professionals to develop and implement personalized support plans.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with challenging behaviors, using positive behavioral strategies and de-escalation techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to safeguarding protocols.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, behavior management, and safeguarding principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • DBS clearance and the right to work in the UK.
