About the Role:

This exciting opportunity is for a motivated and experienced nurse to work as a locum Associate Paediatrics Diabetes Nurse Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the health and wellbeing of individuals with complex diabetes, helping them achieve optimal glycaemic control through informed self-management.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Enhance Health and Wellbeing: Promote the health and wellbeing of individuals with complex diabetes, helping them achieve optimal glycaemic control through informed self-management.
  • Empower Self-Management: Support and empower individuals to manage their diabetes effectively, aiming for a normal lifestyle while reducing morbidity and premature mortality by identifying and preventing complications.
  • Educational Support: Offer education and guidance to individuals with diabetes and their carers, enhancing their understanding and management of the condition.
  • Foster Collaborative Working: Encourage and facilitate regular, effective collaboration among all healthcare professionals and stakeholders involved in diabetes care.
  • Facilitate Communication: Serve as a liaison between GP and consultant-led specialist teams to ensure cohesive and coordinated care.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Must have a degree/equivalent within Nursing (RGN qualified) and an active NMC Registration (Adult).
  • Specialist Qualification: Specialist Diabetes qualification (Diploma).
  • Experience: Experience of working with patients with complex diabetes.
  • Recent UK Nursing Experience: Recent UK nursing experience.
