Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to join our team at Kennametal. As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating customer manufacturing needs and providing complete engineering solutions with associated costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate customer manufacturing needs and provide engineering solutions
  • Engage in customer-facing activities, including analysis of complex applications, process improvements, tooling trials, and technical recommendations
  • Provide technical support to the sales team and other departments
  • Offer advice on fixturing, work-holding, and machining techniques
Requirements
  • Recognized qualification in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a time-served apprenticeship
  • Experience in the metal cutting or precision tooling industry
  • Understanding of programming 3 and 5 Axis CNC Turning and Milling machines and experience working with exotic materials
  • In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing industry and concepts associated with Kennametal Products
  • An innovative, self-motivated individual who can work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems (MS Dynamics)
  • A working knowledge of CAD/CAM software is desirable
