Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Public Health Officer to join our Public Health team at Lincolnshire County Council. The successful candidate will play a significant role in supporting our public mental health, suicide prevention, and self-harm work programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Suicide Prevention Network for Lincolnshire, bringing together stakeholders to contribute to our shared vision for suicide prevention.
- Represent the local authority in local, regional, and national forums on suicide prevention and self-harm.
- Oversee the budget for public mental health in line with decisions taken by the budget holder and the Suicide Prevention Strategic Group for Lincolnshire.
- Provide public health advice and support to other public mental health areas of work as required.
Requirements
- An excellent awareness and knowledge of public mental health, including suicide prevention and self-harm.
- A positive leadership style with a commitment to achieving high performance.
- A clear commitment and proven ability to deliver high-quality outcomes with a drive and enthusiasm for change.
- A good knowledge of guidance and strategies that govern mental health, suicide prevention, and self-harm, including national and local strategies as well as Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) and National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance and recommendations.
