About the Role:
Supply Desk is pleased to be working with a good-rated school in the Aylesbury area that prides itself on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for children, allowing them to succeed to the best of their ability, regardless of the challenges they may face.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers to create and deliver activities that cater to the needs of students with visual impairments.
- Develop a holistic approach to meeting the students' needs by delivering on action plans and strategies that enable learners to make good progress.
- Support students with vision impairment in using braille or optical devices to read and write, mobility devices, and assistive technology.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans, Risk Assessments, Personal Care, and Therapy Care programs for a designated group or form.
- Work with teachers, other support staff, families, and external agencies to provide the best support possible.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with visual impairments or a willingness to work with them.
- Good knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and a passion to develop.
- Able to commit to working fixed days, full or part-time.
- Has a clear and valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service or is willing to obtain one.
- Has relevant training to support students with visual impairments.
