About the Role

Ambient Support is a registered UK charity with over 25 years' experience in providing care and support services for older people, individuals with mental health needs, and those with learning disabilities. We are seeking a skilled Housekeeper to join our team at The Chestnuts, a community-based residential care home in Aylesbury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure correct infection control is maintained and all machinery, appliances, and equipment are used, stored, and serviced as instructed by the Home Manager.
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of assigned areas, including communal spaces and resident rooms/flats, through tasks such as vacuuming, changing beds, and cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, toilets, and lounges.
  • Ensure cleaning and domestic services are responsive to the needs of residents and do not infringe upon their privacy.
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring the catering service is responsive to the needs of those receiving meals.
  • Respect the confidential nature of personal information and use and store cleaning materials and domestic supplies in accordance with COSHH regulations.
Requirements
  • Capability of undertaking manual handling tasks as a core requirement.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, responding to the needs of the service, ensuring staff cover is maintained 365 days a year.
  • Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH.
