About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Palliative Care Nurse to join our team at St Andrews Hospice. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a holistic, patient-centered approach.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive care plans, ensuring all staff follow said plans appropriately.
  • Initiate and take responsibility for reporting and investigating incidents and complaints, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
  • Work effectively within a team of nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth running of the unit and deliver high-quality care.
  • Develop and maintain key working relationships with the multi-professional team to facilitate discussion of complex issues involved in planning, implementation, and evaluation of palliative care.
Requirements
  • Recent post-registration experience in a palliative care setting, including community.
  • Current first or second-level Registered Nurse on the NMC register.
  • Post-registration Palliative Care training (or willingness to work towards).
  • Bereavement training.
  • Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor qualification.
