Position Overview

We are in search of NMC Registered Nurses and Midwives to join our team on a flexible basis during the peak immunisation period. The successful candidate will be tasked with performing clinical responsibilities related to vaccination, primarily conducted in educational institutions and community health settings. Our nursing staff typically operates from Monday to Friday, within the hours of 08:30 to 16:00/16:30, with opportunities for evening and weekend clinic shifts available. Weekend work is compensated at a premium rate. The advertised salary for this role is on a pro-rata basis.

Key Responsibilities

The individual in this role will be accountable for executing clinical tasks associated with vaccination, mainly provided on-site in schools for children in both primary and secondary education, as well as in community health facilities.

Administer 20 to 25 vaccinations per hour during the immunisation season.

Collaborate effectively to support the team, organization, and stakeholders, ensuring the seamless delivery of services.

Advocate for and enhance the operation of our School Aged Immunisation Service.

Assist Programme Managers, Team Leaders, and Clinical Leads as necessary.

Travel to various locations as required.

Provide a high standard of evidence-based and competent care to patients.

Engage in clinical supervision and contribute to the performance and development of team members.

Ensure all clinical incidents, near misses, and complaints are documented, monitored, and addressed in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

Participate in audits, offering recommendations based on findings and sharing results with the team for collective learning.

Attend clinical supervision sessions with the Clinical Lead as directed.

Actively and constructively participate in team meetings.

Conduct Gillick Competency Assessments and obtain verbal consent from parents and guardians.

Undertake additional duties commensurate with the level of this position.
