Job Title: Dispute Resolution Law Solicitor

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Dispute Resolution Law Solicitor. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a high-quality legal service to our clients, under the supervision and training of a qualified solicitor.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct matters on behalf of clients, under supervision, and provide a professional and friendly service.
  2. Participate in the promotion of the firm among local professional firms, including networking events.
  3. Assist in the preparation of cases, usually under pressure and to tight deadlines, and prioritize workloads at any given time.
  4. Deputize for fee-earning colleagues within the department during holidays and absences, as directed by supervisor.
  5. Conduct interviews with clients, assess legal problems, and advise clients on fees.
  6. Negotiate settlements, maintain confidentiality, and maintain organized files.
  7. Be able to accurately follow administrative systems and procedures, and have a good command of the English language.

Person Specification:

  1. The main qualifications for this position are a 2:1 or higher qualifying Law degree and passing, or currently taking, the LPC.
  2. The jobholder must display a pleasant, but assertive manner in dealing with colleagues and clients, and provide a professional and friendly service.
  3. You must be an effective communicator, both orally and in writing, and have a good command of the English language.
  4. You will be expected to work on your own initiative, develop a capability of delegating tasks, and supervising where appropriate.
