Community Volunteer Manager

Ilford, Greater London, United Kingdom Barnardos Full time

We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join Barnardo's as a Community Volunteer Manager within our Young Carers Service.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with our dedicated team to provide a service that addresses the needs of Young Carers and volunteers in the community. Our mission is to ensure that Young Carers enjoy a balanced life alongside their caregiving responsibilities. A solid understanding of Young Carers and their unique support requirements is highly desirable.

As the Community Volunteer Manager, your responsibilities will include the recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing support of volunteers, as well as effectively matching young individuals with suitable volunteers. This role will also involve promoting volunteering opportunities and participating in community events to attract new volunteers. Additionally, you will be expected to assist our experienced project staff and volunteers during group activities and outings for Young Carers as needed, which may require occasional evening and weekend availability.

Your position will primarily be based in our Barnardo's office, but will also involve community engagement in various settings such as schools, family homes, and community centers. The successful applicant must possess a valid driving license, have access to a vehicle, and be willing to transport young individuals as necessary.

For more detailed information regarding this position, please refer to the attached role profile.

Compensation and Benefits

At Barnardo's, we recognize the dedication and effort our team members contribute to our essential work, driven by their passion and commitment. We are also aware that our success in achieving better outcomes for children is largely due to the talent, hard work, and creativity of our staff.

To support our colleagues in their professional journey, we have implemented a new approach to compensation and benefits, ensuring it is equitable, appealing, and progressive. This initiative, launched in April 2023, represents a positive change for the organization and is part of our broader strategy. It will assist in fostering an environment where colleagues can thrive and advance in their careers and compensation.

While the complete salary range is advertised, our approach to starting salaries is to offer a position within the minimum to mid-point of the pay band, allowing for annual pay increases based on individual contributions and alignment with our values. More information about Barnardo's compensation framework will be available upon application.
