About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Shop Manager to lead our charity retail division in Central and West London. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving sales, donations, and gift aid while managing a team of volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of our shops, including setting sales and profit targets and ensuring they are achieved.
- Build, empower, and lead a high-performing team of volunteers and a full-time Assistant Shop Manager.
- Work closely with the retail support team to maximize income, customer service, and community engagement.
- Recruit, develop, and motivate team members to achieve business objectives.
- Analyze customer profiles, buying trends, and competitive information to drive business growth.
- Oversee the execution and processing of incoming and outgoing donations.
- Ensure the visual presentation of the shop meets or exceeds Octavia standards.
- Communicate, manage, and execute community engagement initiatives and events within budget and according to policies and procedures.
- Build relationships with the local community to increase volunteering and donations.
- Attend and contribute to regular team meetings and training, sharing best practices with Octavia's core values.
- Support all fundraising activity and champion community engagement as a brand ambassador for Octavia.
Requirements
- Experience working in charity retail or high street retail with a strong commercial acumen.
- Excellent customer and people management skills with the ability to drive sales, donations, and gift aid.
- Knowledge of displaying, selling, and promoting high-end luxury items.
- Commercial awareness and ability to create a customer journey to the highest level.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure, be a problem solver, and decision maker.
- Good level of numeracy.
- Ability to create high-end visual displays and shop layout.
- At least two years' previous experience in a retail environment.
Benefits
This is a 35-hour per week role paying an annual salary of £25,260 plus fantastic benefits, including up to 10% pension contributions and the opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative team.
