An exciting opportunity exists at our Bradford Bakery for an Engineering Front Line Manager to become part of our Engineering Team. This position will oversee, nurture, and promote operational excellence within a team of Shift Engineers, concentrating on enhancements and accountable for the execution and management of capital projects related to material utilization on site.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and corrective work
  • Managing budgetary controls
  • Monitoring the ratio of operational to non-operational maintenance
  • Overseeing Health & Safety Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Providing technical support to operational Front Line Managers
  • Scoping and managing contractor work
  • Generating and implementing improvement initiatives
  • Sharing best practices across various sites
  • Developing and managing the engineering team
  • Overseeing Health & Safety management
  • Fostering a culture of autonomous maintenance
  • Occasionally engaging in high-tech physical maintenance tasks
  • Offering support to reactive teams as needed
  • Proposing, submitting, and managing capital projects up to £50,000
  • Ensuring full compliance with all relevant corporate and legal standards, including personal safety, food safety, quality, hygiene, and environmental regulations

The Ideal Candidate Should:

  • Exhibit adaptability and flexibility, demonstrating a readiness to accommodate changes in operational demands at short notice
  • Possess experience in Food or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) engineering
  • Be capable of working independently
  • Have a foundational understanding of basic baking techniques
  • Demonstrate leadership and management experience
  • Be aware of budget control principles
  • Possess a solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations

The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, with the flexibility to meet business needs.
