The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal team in Maidenhead. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in providing commercial and strategic legal advice to our businesses across the EMEA region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on a wide range of general commercial matters and regulatory issues.
  • Negotiate and provide strategic legal support on significant matters and areas of importance directly to management and lead stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve complex legal issues related to strategic matters across Abbott divisions.
  • Keep abreast of changes in laws that affect our client areas and communicate these to our businesses.
  • Represent Abbott externally to customers, suppliers, competitors, or government agencies.

Requirements

  • Qualified Lawyer holding the necessary practice certificate as applicable.
  • Extensive post-qualification experience in-house legal experience required, preferably with some experience in the healthcare sector or other highly regulated industry.
  • Strong experience in general commercial law, cross-border international experience, and instruction and management of external counsel.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and client communication skills, as well as strong project management skills.
  • Able to assimilate new areas of law quickly leveraging support from external counsel where appropriate.
