Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trauma and Orthopaedic Consultant to join our team at the North Middlesex Hospital site. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an Orthopaedic and Trauma service with a sub-specialisation in Trauma.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the Trauma On-call service, including weekend cover
  • Manage Peri-prosthetic fractures and participate in Trauma Week
  • Conduct ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and operative lists in Trauma theatres
  • Supervise and train Middle Grades and participate in management duties within the Department and Trust
  • Active liaison with the Emergency Department and attendance at Local and Regional Trauma meetings
  • Provide senior clinician services, leadership to MDTs, and contribute to clinical governance and quality enhancement projects
  • Participate in the Units teaching Programme and undertake supervision, teaching, and training of medical trainees and other multi-professional staff
Requirements
  • Specialist interest in managing Peri-prosthetic fractures
  • Ability to work 2 in 10 weeks, including weekends
  • Flexibility to undertake different clinical tasks within allocated DCC sessions
  • Active participation in clinical guidelines development, audit, and CPD
