Business Finance Support Officer

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Finance Directorate as a Business Finance Support Officer within the Finance Business Partnering Team. This is a permanent appointment that will suit an individual who enjoys a challenge, is interested in making a difference, and is keen to work with different teams within the schools.
Key Responsibilities- Work as part of a finance team to deliver a professional service to a portfolio of schools and/or directorates.
- Support continuous improvement across the operational business, promoting best practice, facilitating change, and ensuring that internal financial controls are robust.
- Liaise with budget holders to enable preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Deal with enquiries and coding queries from budget holders.
- Process journals, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Assist with the year-end process.
- Reconcile balance sheets, ensuring any anomalies are investigated.
- Monitor new non-research projects and contracts, ensuring invoices are raised timeously and expenditure recorded accurately.
- Define priorities and work flexibly and effectively under pressure to meet demanding and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
- Have relevant IT skills with experience of provision of management information.
- Demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
- Have good team working skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze and interpret financial information.
- Be adaptable and open to change.
