Job Title: Finance Insights Specialist

Hutcheon Mearns is seeking an ambitious finance professional to join our growing Insights team. Our Insights service line focuses on business intelligence, financial process improvement, and automation. Due to increasing client demand, we are looking for a determined and professional individual to help bring the benefits of our service line to a growing audience.

About the Role

As a Finance Insights Specialist, you will work within our Insights team of corporate data automation and transformation specialists. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver intelligence projects to a varied client-base, as well as assisting with the support requirements of existing clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver intelligence projects to a varied client-base
  • Assist with the support requirements of existing clients
  • Combine technical accounting knowledge with an ability to translate reporting requirements into tangible reporting solutions
  • Work with Microsoft Power BI (or a similar business intelligence tool) to create data visualizations and reports
  • Develop strong data modelling skills, ETL skills, and DAX knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of key financial processes including budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting
  • Face-to-face client meetings will be part of this role, so you must be able to regularly attend meetings in Aberdeen/Dundee/Central Belt
Requirements
  • Accountant (either Qualified or Qualified By Experience) with at least two years' experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI (or a similar business intelligence tool)
  • Strong data modelling skills, ETL skills, and DAX knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of key financial processes including budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload
