About the Opportunity:
Global Talent 2020 is partnering with a renowned restaurant company in Edinburgh to fill a Sous Chef position at their upscale cafe/restaurant venue in the heart of the city.
The company, known for its commitment to quality and excellence, is seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join their small, dedicated kitchen brigade. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining the high standard of food quality, menu development, and adhering to the company's brand standards.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in producing fresh, high-quality food and managing volume restaurants in the high street space. You will be highly approachable, with excellent communication skills, and able to build and sustain relationships with senior department heads, regional management, and diverse teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the high standard of food quality and presentation
- Develop and implement new menu concepts and dishes
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team to achieve exceptional results
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, COSHH, and RIDDOR regulations
- Manage kitchen operations, including recruitment, training, and mentoring of staff
- Control costs and budgets effectively
