Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships

The Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships will be a key member of the Art Center's leadership team, responsible for cultivating, managing, and soliciting individual gifts, annual giving, corporate funding, and grant writing. This role requires a proven track record of identifying and cultivating relationships with prospects and donors, as well as acquiring large gifts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with existing corporate and foundation donors
  • Research and identify new funding opportunities through individual, foundation, and corporate channels
  • Develop and execute annual grant calendar and renewals
  • Write targeted grants and reports for awarded grants in collaboration with Co-Directors
  • Solicit corporate sponsorship for programs, including summer camp, exhibitions, community, and accessible programs
  • Proactively seek out beneficial partnerships within the business community through participation in committees, groups, and events
  • Manage the Center's participation in the EITC program, including renewal and identification of new EITC partners
Individual Giving, Donor, and Prospect Management:
  • Achieve annual revenue goals through targeted fundraising campaigns, individual giving, and corporate & foundation support
  • Develop and oversee strategies for all fundraising campaigns and targeted fundraising initiatives
  • Maintain a prospect portfolio to optimize fundraising opportunities through relationship building, individual cultivation, and stewardship efforts
  • Write all affiliated donor correspondence, including solicitations, annual appeals, corporate sponsorship materials, and thank you letters
  • Manage internal donor lists and contact reports in the Art Center database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
  • Contribute to the annual report and other communications
  • Represent the organization at events and seek networking opportunities to increase the Art Center's visibility as an essential hub of community and creativity
Membership Program:
  • Maintain the existing program through numbers tracking, renewals, and benefits fulfillment
  • Identify methods of program expansion, including development of upper-level programs, events, and enhanced benefits activations
  • Assist in the development and launch of a program focused on individuals 25-45 years of age
Event Rentals:
  • Oversee the event rental program, including contracts, day-of event support, and new rental prospects
Education/Experience:
  • This is an onsite position
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Proven experience soliciting major gifts and ability to write successful grants
  • Proven relationships with arts and culture donors in the tristate area
  • Experience executing high-level fundraising programs and events
  • Knowledge of the EITC program and other corporate/government agencies preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with the Board, students, members, and major donors are required
  • Night and weekend availability required as needed

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree
