About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior New Regions Planning Manager to join our team at Amazon Data Services UK Limited - E17. As a key member of our New Regions Strategy and Planning team, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end infrastructure planning for new data centre regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Due Diligence: Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify potential risks and opportunities in new countries or geographies, including real estate, utilities, network, security, HR, legal, tax, and public policy.
  • Establish Compliant Infrastructure Strategy: Develop and implement a compliant infrastructure strategy and operating model in new countries or geographies, ensuring alignment with AWS's standards and requirements.
  • Drive Cost Estimates: Create accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for new AWS regions, spanning all aspects of infrastructure, and develop long-term financials and P&L statements.
  • Communicate with Executive Leadership: Present infrastructure plans to AWS executive leadership for review and approval, driving long-term multi-billion-dollar investment decisions.
  • Engage with Customers and Teams: Collaborate with customers, sales, and internal teams to influence infrastructure solutions that meet their needs and drive business growth.
  • Identify Process Improvements: Analyze patterns from previous deployments to improve planning accuracy and create economic frameworks for different infrastructure solutions.

You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: In a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, or business.
  • 7+ Years of Experience: In product or program management, product marketing, business development, or technology, with a focus on bridging technical and business teams.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with cloud infrastructure, data centre program/project management, and knowledge of data centre technical engineering requirements.
  • Business Acumen: Familiarity with P&L statements and long-term cash flow projections/NPV.
