Key Responsibilities
Team Management
- Oversee daily staffing needs, allocate tasks, and set performance and development objectives for team members.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and constructive feedback to enhance employee performance and resolve conflicts.
- Train staff on compliance with safety and governmental regulations.
- Ensure all team members are equipped with the necessary tools and training to perform their duties effectively.
- Foster teamwork and quality service through effective communication and collaboration with other department leaders.
- Assist with deep cleaning initiatives and support housekeeping staff during peak periods.
Financial Oversight
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and manage costs related to supplies and labor (e.g., linen reuse and laundry operations).
- Conduct regular inventory audits of supplies and operational equipment in accordance with Finance Department standards, ensuring accurate records of stock levels and usage.
Guest Satisfaction
- Regularly inspect public areas, guest rooms/suites, equipment, and linens to ensure cleanliness and good condition, advising team members on areas for improvement.
- Perform essential housekeeping tasks, including making beds and vacuuming, to guarantee guest satisfaction.
- Address complaints and special requests to ensure complete guest contentment.
- Accommodate the specific needs and requests of guests, including VIPs and returning visitors.
Responsible Operations
- Order supplies and equipment efficiently while minimizing waste and adhering to green initiatives (e.g., recycling and eco-friendly cleaning agents).
- Implement procedures for the security of lost and found items.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, both internally and externally.
- Drive departmental results, focusing on goals established by senior management, with an emphasis on guest satisfaction, team engagement, and departmental profitability.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a managerial role within a housekeeping department.
- Proven experience in people leadership and development.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Exceptional communication abilities.
- Flexibility to assist in other departments as needed.
