Consultant in General Medicine with an Interest in Acute Medicine

Triple West Medical has been appointed by a South West England-based NHS Trust to recommend a Consultant in General Medicine with an interest in Acute Medicine for a substantive or 12-month NHS Fixed Term position.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the medical take and ensure seamless patient care.
  2. Perform post-take ward rounds to assess patient progress and make informed decisions.
  3. Make specialty referrals to ensure patients receive the best possible care.
  4. Care for short-stay inpatients on the EAU, facilitating timely discharge and follow-up plans.
  5. Follow up patients as ambulatory care patients when required.

The post holder will also be responsible for:

  1. Educational supervision of students to foster their growth and development.
  2. Contributing to Clinical Audits & Governance to ensure high-quality patient care.
  3. Administration and budgetary responsibilities for the department.
Additional Information:
  • 11 PA's with opportunities for additional support staff.
  • Special interests are accommodated, and excellent leadership opportunities are available for experienced Consultants.
  • GMC Specialist Registration and MRCP are required.
  • Clinical Lead opportunities are available.
