Statement Taker and Evidence Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Statement Taker to join our team at the Red Snapper Group. As a Statement Taker, you will be working closely with our investigation team to gather and record statements from witnesses and individuals involved in various incidents.
Main Responsibilities:- Support investigating officers with statement taking and tasks such as seizing and collecting CCTV footage.
- Upload digital and documentary evidence to police IT and other partner agency platforms as required.
- Previous training and experience of writing S9 Criminal Justice Act 1967 evidential Statements for Court submission.
- Ability to work methodically and accurately in a busy and pressurized environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills with the ability to respond to correspondence and enquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Experience of working in a team environment.
- Ideal candidate will have a background in quality assuring documents and knowledge of data protection and GDPR guidelines.
- Proficient experience of working with Microsoft programs such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Able to produce clear, legible, and accurate statements.
- Personal resilience to handle difficult or distressing witnesses.
This is a Monday to Friday role with a start time after 0800 hours, with flexibility to work evenings when needed. The role is based in Worthing or Chichester, with occasional travel required.
Contract and Salary:This is an 8-month contract with a possible extension. The salary is £13.77 per hour PAYE and £18.75 per hour Umbrella.
