Job Title: Statement Taker

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Statement Taker to join our Response Team on the Coast. As a Statement Taker, you will be responsible for visiting members of the public to take statements, which may involve traveling to various locations. You will need to pass a check drive to operate fleet cars.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support investigating officers with statement taking and tasks such as seizing and collecting CCTV.
• Upload digital and documentary evidence to police IT and other partner agency platforms as required.
• Work methodically and accurately in a busy and pressurized environment.
• Prioritize your workload to meet deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Excellent organizational skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience of working in a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft programs such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Ability to produce clear, legible, and accurate statements.
• Personal resilience to handle difficult or distressing witnesses.
