Job Description

Job Title: Credit Controller

Company: CV-Library

Location: Remote

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £25,000 - £32,000 per annum

Hours: Monday - Thursday 8.30am to 5pm (with 30 minutes for lunch)

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Manage Accounts Receivable: Oversee customer accounts, ensuring timely payments and minimizing credit risk.
  2. Communicate with Customers: Resolve outstanding issues and collect payments, or place customer accounts on hold.
  3. Perform Credit Checks: Evaluate new customers to assess creditworthiness.
  4. Maintain Accurate Records: Keep track of customer accounts and transactions.
  5. Report and Resolve Discrepancies: Identify and address cash flow discrepancies and issues with internal and external customers.
  6. Identify and Escalate Credit Risks: Alert senior management to potential credit risks.
  7. Raise Invoices: Generate invoices in line with EOC/SOC.
  8. Collection of Petty Cash: Collect petty cash and bank cheques as required.
  9. Prepare Reports: Deliver regular reports on outstanding debts, credit limits, and cash flow forecasts for the CFO.
  10. Meetings and Audits: Attend bi-weekly meetings with the projects team and quarterly debt review meetings, and assist with HSQE audits.
The Ideal Candidate:
  1. Proven Experience: Have a proven track record as a Credit Controller or in a similar role.
  2. Credit and Collections Principles: Demonstrate a strong understanding of credit and collections principles.
  3. Workload Prioritization: Prioritize workloads to provide smooth and timely credit control operations.
  4. Proactivity and Innovation: Be proactive and innovative, suggesting improved approaches to company performance, credibility, and profile.
  5. Communication and Negotiation Skills: Possess excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  6. Attention to Detail: Demonstrate attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  7. Confidentiality: Handle confidential information with complete discretion.
  8. Teamwork and Independence: Work well independently and in a team setting.
  9. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with financial software.
