Key Responsibilities:

As a Sales Engineer Assistant, you will have the opportunity to support the assigned Sales organization (division and market) and customers during the proposal process. The work model for the role is office based, in Daresbury. Your main responsibilities will include:
  1. Formulating competitive bids and quotations, taking into account best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation.
  2. Managing the preparation of all technical (e.g. defining the most suitable technology and product type(s)), financial (e.g. total price sheet, cash flow analysis) and if necessary, project management (e.g. quantifying hours of engineering and commissioning) aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.
  3. Ensuring that inputs for editing activities are provided on time and according to established quality procedures.
  4. Identifying potential risks in the bids, quotations and estimates, and in any related contract agreements across customers/channels. Providing information and/or participating in the Risk Review process in accordance with ABB policy.
  5. Providing any necessary technical support to Sales Managers during technical meetings with customers.
  6. Identifying potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and technically evaluating supplier offers to check match with specifications.
  7. Knowledge of rotating / electro-mechanical equipment desirable would be an advantage.
  8. Electrical or mechanical engineering qualification - HNC/ HND or ONC/OND would be desirable.
