We are a leading provider of primary care services, seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Secretary to join our team. As a Medical Secretary, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to our practice management team, ensuring the smooth operation of our front-line services.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide a comprehensive secretarial service, including audio-typing, copy-typing, and word processing, for all GPs and health professionals, as required.
  • Handle patient and practice queries, regarding hospital appointments and treatments, confidentially.
  • Ensure that any requests for information from medical records are appropriately dealt with, according to practice policy, and that all subsequent charges are invoiced appropriately.
  • Arrange meetings, including the booking of rooms, as required.
  • Design template letters and forms for use throughout the practice, as required.
  • Maintain the computer-based clinic system, in an accurate and secure manner.
  • Assist with the gathering of statistics and information, when required.
  • Perform any reasonable administrative tasks, as requested by the practice manager.

Requirements

  • Excellent typing and keyboard skills.
  • Previous administration experience.
  • A good knowledge of computers, including experience with SystmOne.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a flexible team.
