Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Oversee the care team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to residents.
    • Support the recruitment and training of care staff, ensuring they are competent in their roles.
    • Lead and motivate the care team to achieve outstanding results.
    • Supervise, appraise, and performance manage care staff to ensure they reach their full potential.
    • Ensure the care team is aligned with the company's core values, vision, and policies.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, relatives, and external stakeholders.
    • Ensure regulatory and statutory requirements are met, and company policies are adhered to.
  • Care
    • Support the leadership of care delivery to ensure continuous assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of residents' care.
    • Ensure care compliance within the home.
    • Deliver outstanding person-centred care, dementia care, and lifestyle choices to residents.
    • Regularly audit care plans to ensure they are appropriate to residents' needs.
    • Ensure medication is ordered and administered in line with company policies.
    • Engage with residents in conversation related to their lifestyle choices, respecting their dignity and communication differences.
  • Health and Safety
    • Inform the Clinical Lead Nurse of any incidents in the Registered Manager's absence.
    • Ensure storage of medications is in line with company policies.
    • Complete risk assessments and ensure safe working practices are followed.
    • Ensure the equipment and environment are safe within the home.
Requirements
  • NVQ/QCF level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in shift leadership and management.
  • Proven track record in a care home environment delivering quality care.
  • Proven track record leading, empowering, supporting, and motivating a clinical team.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent written, non-verbal, and verbal communication skills.
  • Dementia knowledge.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications and Windows-based operating environments.
