Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of this role is to procure and facilitate the timely delivery of materials essential for production, adhering to established scheduling protocols.


Key Responsibilities:
1.

Oversee the acquisition of materials through the


Sage system, utilizing Bill of Material, MRP, and purchase order requisitions for bus components, reworks, consumables, chassis parts, and client-supplied materials.

2.

Effectively communicate purchase orders to suppliers.
3.

Coordinate and expedite material delivery to Wrightbus.
4.

Provide daily updates to the Product Buyer Coordinator regarding potential production constraints.
5.


Manage the engineering procurement process, sourcing new components, analyzing existing inventory at Wrightbus and with suppliers, and authorizing disposal when necessary.

6.

Monitor inventory levels to minimize excess stock.
7.

Ensure all purchase orders are accurately placed for ongoing production builds.
8.

Collaborate with material controllers to guarantee material availability in accordance with demand flow principles.
9.

Engage with suppliers regarding key performance indicators related to delivery notes, invoice discrepancies, kitting, and line shortages.

  • Participate in vendor evaluations as needed.
11.

Develop, maintain, and comply with Standard Operating Procedures.
12.

Coordinate with the Planning Department on timing issues concerning Bill of Material releases.
13.

Report to Logistics and Production management teams regarding production constraints due to material shortages.
14.


Gather and compile shortage reports for line and kitting, liaising with Purchasing/Material Controllers about delivery timelines for shortages.

15.

Monitor individual performance and establish targets for improvement, actively contributing to departmental objectives.
16.

Participate in inventory audits as required.
17.

Foster relationships with the Production Management team.
18.

Perform any additional duties as assigned by Senior Management as necessary.
General
Conduct all responsibilities in accordance with General Data Protection regulations, maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
Ensure work meets the standards set by ISO, industry regulations, and Wrightbus protocols.

Essential Qualifications:

Educational Background:
5 GCSE Grades A-C, including Maths and English or equivalent
OR
Extensive relevant experience in scheduling high volumes of materials to meet production needs

Professional Experience:
Proficient in computer applications with experience in spreadsheets and databases
Minimum 3 years of experience using MRP systems
At least 3 years of relevant experience in scheduling to a production program
Specialized Knowledge / Skills
Understanding of material scheduling in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Strong influencing and persuasive abilities
Effective problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
