Job Title: Dermatology Senior Nurse Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Dermatology Senior Nurse Specialist to join our team at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and dedicated individual to work in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a Dermatology Senior Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert nursing advice and support to patients, relatives, and carers regarding their skin conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and deliver care needs to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive service for patients with general skin conditions.
  • Provide expert nursing advice and support to patients, relatives, and carers regarding their skin conditions in compliance with national standards.
  • Teach, support, and develop colleagues within dermatology settings.
  • Act always in a manner consistent with the NMC code of Professional conduct, carrying out duties in accordance with trust policies and procedures.
  • Assist with and provide nurse-led clinics for general dermatology patients.
  • Promote Dermatology patient surveys, utilizing feedback to improve patient experience through customer care training and action plans.
  • Provide and maintain a telephone helpline.
  • Provide psychological support for patients, relatives, and carers.
  • Participate in health promotion.
  • Deal effectively and sensitively with patient issues, collaborating with PALS/complaints service as appropriate.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day running of Dermatology Minor surgery.
  • Undertake individual performance review for development of staff.
  • Ensure all patient records are accurate, clear, concise, legible, and in accordance with the NMC Standards for Records and Record Keeping.
  • Ensure adherence to the Trust Medicines Policy and the NMC Standards for the Administration of Medicines.
  • Maintain and promote patient confidentiality in line with trust policy and procedures.
  • Maintain effective working levels and monitor the safe and economic use of supplies, including forward planning.
