Job Title: Children's Home Registered Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Children's Home Registered Manager to oversee the day-to-day operational running of our Residential Children's Home in Derby. This is a full-time position with an annual wage of £35,000.

About Us

Yani Care Support is a family-run Social Care organisation providing support and accommodation to young people across the Northwest and Midlands areas. Our services specialise in working with young people with autism, complex needs, challenging behaviours, and trauma, requiring a tailored approach to care and support.

Job Summary

The Registered Manager is responsible for supervising, supporting, and managing the other staff within the children's home. They must be a professional with significant experience in their field and hold a qualification and registration in health or social sciences or social care management. The role requires a positive value base, a good understanding of social work perspectives, and an ability to manage staff, environment, and clients with complex and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the children's needs are met and that, to the best of our ability, they are happy.
  • Review and ensure good standards of practice in recording and monitoring, liaising with other agencies, and contacting the local community.
  • Develop local knowledge of your field and build networks.
  • Liaise with OFSTED and any other suitable bodies.
  • Use the residential community as a means of support and social learning for the children and team.
  • Introduce and involve yourself in the local community and represent Yani Care Support and our ethos positively.
  • Ensure the reporting to organisations such as OFSTED, CQC, and local authorities is accurate and timely.
  • Adhere to the SWE, QTS, or nursing standards of conduct, as appropriate.
  • Achieve a culture of good safeguarding practice across child care, staff management, and recruitment.
Requirements
  • Experience working with young people with autism, complex needs, challenging behaviours, and trauma.
  • Ability to represent the organisation to external bodies and members of the community.
  • Willingness to contribute to on-call rota and complete direct work and shifts including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays, when necessary.
  • Experience (minimum 2 years) of working with vulnerable children in a residential environment.
  • Experience of managing staff and completing supervision and appraisal processes (at least 1 year).
  • Good standard of written and verbal English, including report writing and assessment skills.
  • A knowledge of the regulatory framework for the field.
  • Completion of the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services in the children and young people's residential management pathway or equivalent.
  • Full UK driving licence and use of a vehicle for business purposes.
