About the Role

The Associate Hospice Nurse Specialist will be responsible for coordinating care for patients and families referred to our hospice, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless delivery of care. You will also be involved in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with community professionals, support services, and other hospices and palliative care teams.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide clinical leadership and expertise in palliative care, ensuring high standards of care and practice.
  2. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with community professionals, support services, and other hospices and palliative care teams.
  3. Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures, ensuring they are evidence-based and aligned with Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care's mission and values.
  4. Participate in ongoing research and development, staying up-to-date with best practices in palliative care and sharing knowledge with the team.
  5. Act as a role model, demonstrating high standards of care and practice, and providing clinical leadership and support to colleagues.
  6. Work collaboratively with the team to ensure seamless delivery of care, responding to patient and family needs in a timely and compassionate manner.
Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate nurse with a strong background in palliative care. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin.
  • Degree-level qualifications in Palliative Care or a related field.
  • Experience of working in a palliative care setting, with a strong understanding of the principles and practices of palliative care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong clinical leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of patients and families.
