Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Assessment Officer to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd. As an Assessment Officer, you will work closely with a Local Authority in Tower Hamlets to assist with the appointment of an Assessment Officer on a 1-year contract, with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide applicants with targeted advice on the Council's lettings scheme and procedure to maximize their sustainable housing options and rehousing prospects.
- Offer applicants help and support in terms of their housing applications and encourage them to make informed and pragmatic decisions about all the housing options available to them.
- Assess complex and difficult cases to maximize rehousing prospects, including liaising with a range of other professionals to ensure all relevant information is collated.
- Identify cases of suspected fraudulent applications and refer them to the Team Manager.
- Work closely with OTs and other Health Professionals to ensure the best possible advice is given to those requiring accessible homes.
Requirements:
- Experience of engaging with colleagues, members of the public, partner agencies, and stakeholders.
- Experience of working in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience of using a variety of ICT systems.
- Experience of problem-solving.
- Experience of dealing with members of the public, providing a high-class service in a customer-focused environment.
- Experience of complex casework, working with vulnerable households, and caseload management.
Important Notes:
- You should be available to work immediately or at short notice.
- You should have the right to work in the U.K.
- This role requires a basic DBS.
